About
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor currently licensed in West Virginia. I graduated from West Virginia University with a Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in the school system, in outpatient clinics, in private practice, and in the juvenile court system.
My primary therapy approach is person-centered therapy. I firmly believe that every individual deserves an authentic therapy experience and should always feel heard, seen, valued, understood, and validated. I do my best to create a warm, inviting, safe, accepting, and empathetic environment for all of my clients. I understand that we all come from a different background, but one thing we all have in common is that we have all experienced situations that have been overwhelming and very hard for us at times. I like to meet each client where they are and help them to process and work through where they have been and to help give them a hope for their future.
In therapy, I try my best to create a positive therapeutic experience for each of my clients. The theories/approaches/techniques I like to use include: Person-Centered Therapy, ACT, CBT/REBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Gottman Methods, EMDR, Grief Therapy, Theory of Attachment, Psychoeducation, and Mindfulness.
I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families – adolescents and adults suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma/abuse, self-esteem/self-confidence, addiction, relationship issues, grief, and environmental changes. I have also assisted clients in finding a career path and making lifestyle changes.
My passion lies in assisting people to find their authentic self, to create inner peace, and to improve all relationships in their life.
