About

My name is Lisa Chappell, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based in Thomasville, North Carolina, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and teens specializing in anxiety, stress, and depression, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help my clients make progress and start to heal. My approach My approach to therapy varies on the individual person I'm seeing. We will collaborate and come up with goals that will meet your needs. I most often will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as both techniques help to provide tools to navigate a way forward to your goals. My focus I have found that my approach is a strong fit for adults, young adults, and teens. I am experienced in treating depression, anxiety, life transitions, domestic violence and much more. I want to help you build the best possible life you can live. My communication style I will meet you where you are in life without judgment or ridicule. I pride myself on creating a very welcoming, calming, and personable environment in which you can share your feelings. My journey to therapy I decided to go to college late in life. I worked full-time and went to college in the evenings. I graduated with my BS in Community Justice Studies with a minor in Psychology. I immediately applied for a master's program and went to school for a Clinical Mental Health Counselor program in the fall of 2013. I graduated in 2016 with honors and became licensed as an LCMHC. I became a counselor because I always wanted to help people live their best lives. I believe that each person has the tools within themselves to live their best lives; they sometimes just need some help recognizing those tools and how to use them. My goals for you My approach to setting goals with the client is about collaboration. We will work together to find goals that will meet your needs.
