My name is Lisa Phelps. I am a professional clinical counselor with over 8 years of working as a therapist in Kentucky. I have worked with clients with a wide range of life challenges including trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, and parenting. I routinely work with people who are victims/survivors of crimes, domestic violence and childhood trauma.
My counseling approach is centered around the client. I do not give advice but I help clients learn to help themselves. I work with clients on effective coping skills and stress management techniques and stress the importance of self-care. My counseling style combines cognitive-behavioral and humanistic counseling. I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and currently completing DBT training.
I am open-minded and understand that each person is unique and special. I look forward to working with you!
