Hello! My name is Lisa Daughters (she, her) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Arizona and Texas. I have been counseling for 9 years in a variety of settings and working with a wide range of clients. I have a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy, which is the utilization of creative interventions as part of the therapeutic process. I also have specialized training in grief and loss. I also have experience with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, abuse, relationship issues, family concerns, stress management, anger management, reproductive challenges and pregnancy loss, ADHD, self-esteem and confidence, and plus-size/fat community issues. Working with people of size is near and dear to my heart, and I believe that finding a fat-positive professionals can be challenging. I follow a Health at Every Size informed approach.

I believe that my clients are the experts on themselves. I see myself not as an authority but as a companion through challenges and changes. Categorically, my approach is creative, humanistic, emotion-focused. What that means is that I prioritize understanding you, what you're going through, and what you want for yourself. I utilize humor to bring perspective and connection. I also encourage as much creative expression as possible. It's important to me that my clients feel safe, valued, and supported regardless of their circumstances or identity because I believe that is how people heal and grow.

There is no right or wrong time for counseling. There is no right or wrong-sized issue for counseling. If it matters to you, it matters to me.
