My name is Lisa Brown-Fagan and I am excited that you are reaching out to Find A Therapist to make healthy changes in your life. Therapy can be a great resource in reaching your goals and establishing the life you would like to have. I know that it can be difficult discussing the intimate details of your life. You will receive the uttermost support in this process. I work to build a healthy therapeutic relationship with clients. I know it is important for you to find a good fit in reference to a therapist that will make you feel comfortable.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Michigan. I have been working in the field of mental health counseling for over 13 years. I have been providing therapy in private practice, agencies and inpatient. I have provided supervision for counselors to obtain their professional licensure. In my years of counseling, I have worked with clients from different demographics. I have worked with clients with mood and anxiety disorders, grief issues, relational issues, life transitions, substance abuse, trauma and LGBTQ population.

The therapy I provide is based in client centered. Other therapeutic approaches are integrated such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rationale Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Family Systems Therapy. The techniques utilize will be based on the client. Different tools can be utilized with the client, such as writing, art, books, relaxation techniques and creative activities. I will look for areas in which the client thrives and has had successes in to help promote their abilities in areas they struggle in an effort to encourage clients that they have the ability to achieve their goals.

I have found that in years of work in counseling, clients are looking for someone who is easy to talk to, trustworthy and caring. My personal and professional experiences have provided me with the ability to understand, empathize and provide tools for the client to achieve personal goals.
