My name is Lisa Danner, and I am a fairly newly minted LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) in the state of New Mexico; although I have been doing this work informally for most of my life. For the better part of 26 years, I was a freelance court reporter working for attorneys and occasionally in the courtroom. I went back to school when I was a “certain age” and earned three degrees — an Associate’s in Fine Art, BSW and MSW — in a 10-year time period, because I wasn’t thrilled with my life as it was, and I decided to change it.
I practice solutions-focused brief therapy with families, couples and individuals, with an emphasis on your strengths and on what is good in your life. We will examine what works now and what has worked well in the past, and figure out how to expand that good stuff, rather than focusing on problems.
I believe that you are the expert on you and that you have everything you need, right now, to realize the life you crave. My job is to support and encourage you as we work together to identify and disassemble the obstacles that are keeping you from clarifying and going after your heart’s desires. It will be an honor and truly my pleasure to work with you.
