Therapy is often the first of many steps one will take on the journey of balancing the stress and demands of life with the human drive for happiness and well being. I am honored to be entrusted to walk some of this journey with you and my hope is that you leave the therapy encounter with new skills, new outlooks and new purpose. I live and practice by the saying “The only way out is through” (Robert Frost) and use this perspective as a guiding light in my work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with the state of Illinois as well as a nationally certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. I consider myself an eclectic therapist as I base the type of therapy I use off of the individual and the presenting problem. I am trained in motivational interviewing, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Focused/Narrative Therapy as well as Substance Use Disorder treatment. I have been in the mental health field for over a decade and have spent the past six years in community mental health serving individuals with a variety of presenting issues, including mood disorders, substance use disorders, PTSD and impulse related disorders.
