About

I’ve been a Marriage Family Therapist since 1996, and have had experience with experiential group therapy, couples therapy, individual therapy, and child play therapy. I’ve worked with parents, teaching them how to be the most instrumental person in their child’s development, having spearheaded a filial therapy school program in Northern California. I have expertise in Imago Therapy for couples and am a huge proponent of Enneagram Personality Types, and how they function best in love and work. I hail from Fresno State, earning my MS in MFCC in 1990, and had excellent training in a live community counseling setting. Once earning my license, I opened a successful private practice in Ripon in 1998. As a Stanislaus County Mental Health Clinician, I treated Co-Occurring clientele in a substance abuse facility, and have many years’ experience as a proponent of the Twelve Step model of treatment for many issues and addictions. I’ve worn many hats as a therapist, but I am mostly a client-centered person. We are in this together, and I am fully present with you on your journey of self discovery and care. Specific to what’s happening currently in our national crises, I will help you process anxiety and the stressors that come with changes in your family life. I will help you accept the present circumstances, and how to thrive in the midst of trouble. My own personality type is that I hit the ground running, and am able to process and assimilate difficult issues with you. I will teach you some strategies to carve out time for yourself, and how to care for others in your household as well. Couples clients will be working primarily with Imago Therapy, in which I will help you process your issues through the frame of old childhood wounds. Many relationships have been saved through learning how to direct issues where they belong. I am a fan of the Enneagram and will help you learn your type, and learn how to thrive in that personality frame. I use role-play and guided imagery as an adjunct to talk therapy as well. Life is in session! I look forward to working with you!
