About

Hello, I am Linda Miller a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas. I earned my degree at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, a CACREP university. My focus is Individual counseling, and I have worked with and seen individuals with a variety of problems we have worked through. I also focus on substance abuse problems for both the individual, but also on the family dynamics associated with addiction. Living with an addict in one’s life can be a roller coaster of emotions; Addiction is a family disease. I have worked in both long- and short- term treatment centers. This included the families of the addict along with the addict their self. In my personal life I have been involved in the field of recovery for substance abuse for over 30 years and have witnessed amazing changes in people’s lives.

I use various Therapy styles unique to each client; Person-Centered therapy, encourages you to guide the conversations during our sessions. I may help facilitate the conversation, however the answers within you. We can find your answers. I may use Family and Marriage Therapy focused on the family and the relationships within the family as a whole. This may include couple’s therapy and individual therapy. I also had great success with Motivational Interviewing. This modality helps a client find their own internal motivation for change. Your change is within yourself. I am a proponent of Strength-Based counseling focusing on your strengths, rather than on the perceived failures or shortcomings. We build on the best within you. Narrative Therapy helps a person perceive the problem as an entity outside themselves. This in turn, allows you to detach from the problem and rewrite their own story. The new story shows you your capabilities beyond that problem. These are simplistic explanations, and certainly not inclusive of various therapies I have used successfully. Your treatment plan will be uniquely designed for you needs. There is no one size fits all in in therapy, we will find what works best for you, for your best results. Book your appointment today.
