Hi, I am Linda, and am very excited to provide therapeutic guidance to you, as you journey through this difficult time in your life. Since I am an LCSW of almost 30 years, I have worked in many mental health facilities, and with many clients, during my professional years. I have also been trained in many therapeutic modalities, but what I believe is most important to your progress, is the therapeutic alliance. Do you feel like you can speak honestly to me about your challenges and am I the therapist that can help you. Asking for help takes a lot of courage and trust, in not only yourself, but in your therapist. I would consider our sessions a sacred process, filled with emotion and heartache at times, but I will escort you through this process with all the skill I have acquired, and much of that comes from my clients throughout the years. I have enjoyed every therapeutic setting but I am most proud of the privilege of working with the United States Marine Corps (USMC) for almost six years, working on Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. I was proud to work for our military, active duty and retired, mostly the United States Marine Corps, but other military branches, too. These courageous young men and women had suffered the trauma of "Operation Desert Storm" in Iraq and "Operation Enduring Freedom" in Afghanistan.
Right now our world is filled with stress/anxiety, so we would be talking about ways to diminish that anxiety through Mindfulness Relaxation Techniques. Many of my clients, including those young Marines, could not believe how doing some easy breathing techniques could help them through their day.
