About
I am a clinical social worker. I am licensed in the state of North Carolina, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate, (LCSW), which is governed by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board (NCSWCLB). I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and am committed to their code of ethics. I received my Master of Social Work degree from Simmons University in January 2020. I received certified training in interpersonal violence and trauma. I have experience working with adults, adolescents and children with trauma and mental health diagnosis. I take a trauma-informed approach coupled with an integrated holistic approach to provide services to all clients. My training in interpersonal violence and trauma is attributed to therapy modalities that assist this population. I acknowledge that there is not a one size fits all therapy and that each client is recognized as an individual. As your therapist, it is my job to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental atmosphere. My goal is that every client can feel confident discovering, developing, or strengthening the skills needed to achieve their personal set goals and to cope with adversity. I apply a strength-based, self-deterministic and acceptance approach to therapy using evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Flash technique, Solution-Focused (SF), Trauma-Focused - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness techniques, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Humanistic therapy.
