Linda Karcher moved from Michigan to North Carolina in 2002 after realizing that sunshine and warmer climes were essential to her quality of life. Major snowfall and sub-zero temperatures are no longer forecasted for her. She lives with her partner, Dave, and her elderly Labrador retriever. The merging of her clinical background with her clinical educator experience seemed to be a calling. Her primary focus is working with adults dealing with challenging life circumstances. She believes she has a unique perspective and trifecta with her clinical, clinical educator, and Yoga hats. Linda has 33 years of experience working with late adolescents and adults across a variety of settings. She is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT) in addition to utilizing other treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Energy Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. She has a strength-based and collaborative approach with her clients. She has also worked closely with students with disabilities who had IEPs and 504s. She understands how confusing, difficult and frustrating getting students and parental needs met can be and knows how to navigate this very complex system. In addition to therapeutic services she also provides 504 Consultation and Case Management. As a Certified Yoga Teacher, she also uses these skills to help people: Relax, breathe and be mindful, Empower themselves, Learn emotional regulation, Increase mental, physical, and emotional well-being, Develop confidence and increase motivation for success In Linda's spare time she enjoys the great outdoors hiking, biking, and anything by the water. She also enjoys cooking, reading, travel and scuba diving, and of course, playing with her dog, aka her lovable office assistant.
