About

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts. I have several years of experience working in community mental health agencies serving adults in their homes and a clinic based setting. Working in these settings has provided valuable opportunities to treat adults of various ages and with a variety of mental health needs. I have helped individuals who have experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, stress, grief/loss, relationship difficulties and substance use. I also have worked with parents who are looking for support with their child's behavior and to enhance their positive parenting strategies.

My primary focus is to establish a therapeutic relationship with the individual since this is essential to the counseling process. I demonstrate active listening and have a person centered, non-judgmental and respectful approach. Others have often described me as a great listener, patient, easy to talk to and having a good sense of humor.
My counseling style is goal oriented, supportive and focuses on identifying your strengths. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing and solution focused techniques to help individuals set and work towards their goals. I believe each individual has specific strengths and counseling can be a way to highlight those strengths to be used to overcome struggles.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts. I continued my education and received a Master of Arts degree from Lesley University where I studied counseling psychology.

I enjoy spending time at the beach, being creative, walking/hiking and spending time with those I care about, including my dog. I enjoy watching individuals make positive choices and decisions in their life. I look forward to supporting you in achieving your goals and becoming a healthier person.
