This is your journey, and I am here to help you meet your goals: Through objective insight, support, relationship, and understanding your point of view. My approach CBT, Motivational Interviewing, incremental goal setting, and an objective view of your journey. Positive psychology and being sensitive to the client's needs by working with multi-modal theories. My focus I see many clients who are givers and care about who they are and what they provide to themselves, their families, and the world at large. I teach clients how to meet their own needs. My communication style l teach a way I developed to decrease frustration by allowing others to have different opinions without seeing it as a challenge to fight. I am warm and accepting, encouraging and confrontational when needed. My journey to therapy I have wanted to be a therapist since I was young, yet in college, as a new high-school graduate, I realized I did not have enough life experience. So, I married, had 4 children, was a widow at 31, and remarried at 33. After my children grew up and left, I went back to school. I graduated in 2015 with an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy and am now licensed. I have had wonderful people in my life along the way. My goals for you By introducing myself, I assure them of confidentiality and ask what they would like to discuss and achieve in our sessions. Then I answer any personal questions they have for me. My first session with you A time of listening to their story, dreams, and desires and asking for clarification where needed. Answering any questions that they have and encouraging the beginning of a therapeutic relationship.
