Hello, my name is Lincoln Shelton, and I am a -licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider designation in the state of Tennessee. I am also the owner of Higher Ground Counseling (HGC). HGC is not only dedicated to supporting individuals through mental health and substance abuse treatment but is also licensed as an Intensive Outpatient Treatment Facility. My experience includes leadership roles in various therapeutic settings; from 2021-2023, I served as Clinical Director at Free Will Baptist Family Ministries, a juvenile justice facility for teenage boys, preceded by a two-year term as a Case Manager. Currently, I lend my expertise as the Clinical Director at Recovery Soldiers Ministries, a men's residential treatment center, in collaboration with Higher Ground Counseling. I approach counseling from a blend of evidence-based techniques grounded in a Christian world view. I believe there are “a lot of truths in psychology and in counseling however not all psychologists or counselors acknowledge the author of truth” I am the loving and dedicated husband to my wonderful wife Denna for over 24 years, and and passionate about serving those who are placed in my care.
