About

Hi, I'm Lily Meller, a psychotherapist at Path Mental Health - L.A. Sout. I work to be a present, supportive, and kind therapist with an emphasis on mindfulness and supporting clients to feel more fully. I am passionate about establishing a positive relationship with clients and providing a unique supportive approach that incorporates a client's strengths, relational world, dreams, and where they find meaning. My approach My approach is tailored to meet a client's needs based on a client's needs, goals, and symptoms. I use psychodynamic therapy, which explores the importance of early and current relationships and involves self-reflection, self-examination, and learning how you might be engaging in certain patterns or getting in your own way. I also use CBT, which helps to identify negative thought patterns and offers actionable tools to shift behaviors. Mindfulness is also a cornerstone of my practice to support clients in becoming more present and more in touch with their senses. My focus I work with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, and the stress of complex medical diagnoses. My communication style I aim to create a containing, supportive, safe space to process whatever clients bring to session or find they need to reflect on as they explore. I like to support clients in taking the lead in their session as they are the experts in their own lives. My journey to therapy After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania, I earned a Master's degree in Child Development from Sarah Lawrence College, and a Master's in Social Work degree from New York University. I was awarded a post-graduate fellowship in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Reiss-Davis Child Study Center. It still gives me a sense of awe to have the great privilege of sitting with clients as they come to crucial insights about themselves and identify progress in their lives.
