About
My name is Leslie Davis. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in San Francisco, California and work with clients statewide via telehealth. My experience includes 20 years in the clinical psychotherapy and professional counseling arena, working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, and complex trauma. My approach I am a psychodynamically trained, yet have a multi-theoretical and trauma-focused approach to my clients. Methods that guide my practice are a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral( CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical (DBT), Psychodynamic, Mindfulness-based and Motivational Interviewing. I offer cutting-edge evidence-based tools to help clients cope with barriers to their life's goals. I am specially trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Crisis Intervention. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). My focus I provide individual therapy to adults experiencing a wide range of concerns and mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic pain, complex trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, self-esteem, substance abuse, and relationship issues. I believe every person is unique, which means that our time together would be tailored to your particular needs based on cultural background, family dynamics, and personal values. My communication style My counseling style is warm and compassionate, with an emphasis on the importance of providing a safe, strength-based, and non-judgmental space to my clients. I combine my therapeutic techniques with mindfulness and a sense of humor. As a therapist, I am passionate about work that is collaborative in nature, forming a partnership to explore together. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been drawn to a career that involves walking along with people who need support, encouragement, and empowerment in their lives. Becoming a therapist combines both my personal and professional experiences.
