About

I have been in direct client care for almost 19 years, in a variety of settings. I have treated people struggling against mood disorders, addictions, dysfunctional relationships, grief, trauma, and abuse. I believe the most important predictor of success in therapy is the ability to make a relationship with the therapist, and I have a long record of making connections with people, with a lot of success.

In my personal life, I am a daughter and sister in a large and loving family, and our family has had its own rounds of heavy issues, including drug use, serious mental illness, nontraditional family arrangements, and premature death of family members. I am married and my husband and I are raising our five school-aged children as best as we can. We are acutely aware of the particular pressures and challenges facing contemporary parents as we work to raise our children and remain joyful and whimsical in our marriage. Not easy! We don't always succeed! When we fail, we ask for forgiveness and try again the next day. We are always growing in this way, and I bring this daily experience of success and failure to therapy. We are never our final selves- we always have opportunities to grow!
