Lavinia takes a client-centered approach, focusing on each individual’s needs and goals with kindness and professionalism. She works with adult patients (25 to 65 years old) who are experiencing stress, overwhelm, worry, anxiety, are feeling stuck, or who are dealing with difficult transitions. Lavinia helps patients realize that life is understandable, manageable, and meaningful by helping them develop coping skills and cultivating their inner resources like forgiveness, kindness, compassion, gratitude, courage, and finding a purpose and sense of connection. She aims to inspire patients so they can build the life they want and live with meaning and purpose. Lavinia is experienced using cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness when working with patients. She provides a supportive, fun, professional, and positive environment. She believes in creating a strong therapeutic alliance with her patients and takes a holistic approach to healing, helping patients modify their thinking and behavioral patterns that perpetuate struggles in their lives. Outside of work, Lavinia likes to hike, go on spiritual pilgrimages, do yoga, listen to audiobooks, and take nature walks. In graduate school, her favorite show was Frasier. Lavinia likes working at SohoMD because the team empowers her to do her best work, balancing her personality and her professional needs and perspectives with a larger team of professionals.
