Thanks for reaching out! It's not always easy to ask for help, but we all need to feel supported and understood in times of crisis or when experiencing a problem that becomes overwhelming. By being your own advocate, you will be able to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to reach your full potential and have a fresh outlook on life. I specialize in treating adults and couples who are experiencing a variety of issues and/or distress in their lives, and who have been unsuccessful in resolving things themselves. I find that a direct and supportive approach can be very effective in getting to know yourself better and overcoming the obstacles encountered in your life or relationship. I have over 17 years of experience in the mental health field, primarily in private practice. I am a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor trained at the ACA accredited University of Cincinnati, and completed my Doctorate in Counselor Education in 2011. I have also supervised numerous Masters level counselors in their training, as well as participated in cross-cultural training abroad. My specialties include relationship issues, boundary-setting, co-dependency, anxiety and mood disorders, life transitions, grief/loss, and chronic pain/disability. In addition, I have specialized training in Gestalt Therapy, which focuses on increased awareness of emotions and sensations.
