About

Welcome! My name is Lauren, and I want to congratulate you for taking the first huge step of making your well-being a priority.

As we work together, you will find this journey to be collaborative and shaped to best fit you as an individual. I work diligently to provide a safe, judgement-free zone, where I welcome feedback and questions. Many people use the label “Expert” or “Professional” when referring to a Therapist. I believe YOU are the expert of YOUR life- as no one can know your story better than you. I am simply your guide and team member as we illuminate areas that need focus, while building skills to utilize now and through the rest of your life.

I have a Master’s Degree from Northeastern Illinois University and have an LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) in the state of Illinois. My experience over the last six years includes working for a Community Agency that served children, adolescents and their families, working for a Non-Profit to provide counseling for diverse populations, and Private Practice where I have worked with children, teens, young adults, adults, and their families.

Often, I incorporate a variety of approaches to therapy including- client centered, positive psychology, cognitive behavioral psychology, art therapy, play therapy, solutions focused therapy, and family systems theories. As I believe there is no “one right way” to conduct a session, as it needs to be just as unique as the individual, their experiences, and their needs.

Please do not hesitated to reach out to me with any questions you may have or if you would like to discuss anything further. I realize that finding a therapist takes time (as building any relationship does) and encourage you to be honest if you feel that some one else maybe a better fit as we begin our collaboration. In the end- I want what is best for YOU and want you to feel comfortable advocating for yourself, as you need.
