About

Whether you’re an adolescent or an adult struggling with anxiety or depression, dealing with a painful loss, looking to understand the impact of trauma, making a life transition, or hoping to develop a stronger sense of self, Lauren’s goal is to offer the tools you need to feel safe, whole, and healthy. She has over a decade of experience working with teens, college students, and adults and takes a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach in therapy. Lauren values connecting with her clients in an easy, relaxed manner. She sees therapy as collaboration and feels gratitude for the opportunity to walk alongside her client’s as they navigate their struggles and celebrate their triumphs. Lauren understands the courage it often takes to make that initial phone call to begin therapy; she believes that saying, “I don’t know” and “I need help” are some of the bravest and most powerful words we can speak. Growth and healing are often born from vulnerability. Lauren’s areas of expertise include trauma treatment, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, challenges with self-esteem/self-concept, and managing life transitions. Her methods of practice include Cognitive Behavioral and Solution-Focused therapies, as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness-based interventions. Her approach is direct, non-judgmental, and encouraging. Lauren received her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has clinical experience in both private practice and non-profit settings, as well as experience in non-profit program management. “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” -Maya Angelou
