Hello there, my name is Laura Burns. I earned my Masters degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I am a Licensed Social Worker with 20 years of experience. I am licensed in both Michigan and Arizona.

Due to the desire to help a family member with upcoming cancer treatment, I am available for short term therapy for the next month. So if you purchased one month of weekly sessions from Find A Therapist, I am the therapist for you!

Many people I meet with complain that therapists "just listen." I ask many questions to get to the root of your issue and help people develop coping skills within the first session. I've worked in a variety of settings including mental health centers, Psychiatric ER, Child Advocacy Center, Partial Hospitalization Program, home-based programs, and in private practice. I have a lot of experience with Codependency. My therapy style combines client centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

It takes courage to ask for help. I am here to listen and support you in a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental environment. I can typically see people right away/same day if needed.
