About

****Please note at this time I am only seeing clients through the messaging feature and can respond to messages multiple times a day, 7 days a week. I am not offering phone/video/or livechat due to some health issues*****

I have been in the mental health space for 14 years working with individuals seeking to improve their mental health and overall wellness. My experience is in both private practice and working for health insurance carriers providing telephonic counseling. I have a special interest in helping clients with anxiety, depression, feelings of hopelessness, isolation, intrusive thinking, obsessive compulsive disorder, chronic pain, health concerns, disability and adjustment disorders due to big life changes like divorce, unemployment, and losing a loved one.

My therapy approach pulls from cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, and a bit of dialectical behavior therapy. This means I aim to focus on the here and now. My aim is to make my clients feel welcome and have a safe space to share their fears, concerns, or issues that are impacting their overall wellness without ANY judgment whatsoever. I will work with you individually to determine which approach best meets your specific needs. I appreciate a collaborative approach with my clients to focus on specific solutions as well as providing clients the tools to manage life's difficulties.

It takes courage to even ask for help, so being here and showing up is half the battle (kind of like the old commercials "Knowing is half the battle!")

I am not a faith based clinician. If incorporating your faith is crucial to your goals, I would encourage you to look for a clinician that specializes in that so you can get exactly what you need. If your faith or religion is not really integral to why you are seeking therapy, I have happily worked with people of many faiths and denominations achieve their therapeutic goals. You will get nothing but respect from me but I do not offer pastoral counseling.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my my husband, 11 year old daughter, 3 dogs, and 4 cats--IT IS A ZOO! I love visiting national parks when I get the opportunity, reading psychological thrillers, listening to true crime and comedy podcasts, Dallas Cowboys football (don't hold it against me :), and trying new foods and restaurants. I like all kinds of music from rap, metal, to old outlaw country! I like tattoos and people's ability to express themselves uniquely.

My favorite places I have traveled to are Prague, Munich, Amsterdam, London, Yosemite National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and New Orleans.
