Hello, my name is Laura Glenn, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I was born and raised in Alabama. I live on my farm with my two dogs, 5 cats, and 8 horses in Alabama where I enjoy horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and being with nature. My parents instilled me the value of helping others help themselves and protecting nature. I am blessed to have a career in Social Work. I have worked in the field of social work for 13 years and specifically in the following areas: hospice care, child welfare, substance use, and mental illness. I graduated from University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2006 where I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2011 with my Master's Degree in Social Work. I furthered my credentialing process by becoming eagala certified as a mental health specialist and equine specialist (equine assisted psychotherapy) and obtained my LICSW and PIP in 2018. I use an eclectic treatment approach with my clients to ensure that the client is the center of their treatment and include treatment interventions, such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Modification Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Experiential Therapy.
