My treatment approach is based on evidenced based EMDR and focused to support you on your journey of exploring and changing negative core beliefs and processing any trauma that may be holding you back from living your best life. Please note that EMDR is not the same as talk therapy, and although we will take the time to talk about what to work on and discuss the process during our sessions , our main work together will be structured and focused. I would be happy to answer any questions about EMDR before we start working together, but if you prefer a traditional talk therapist for support at this time, please select another therapist from Find A Therapist.
I have noticed through my work that our core beliefs are often set during childhood by our caregivers/parents, and if our caregivers were abusive, or experiencing their own shortcomings or adversity, the messages that we picked up as a child could be harmful to us as adults. Once core beliefs are set, they aren't usually examined again unless we decide to question them. I believe it is worthwhile to examine negative core beliefs, which can be behind symptoms of depression, anxiety or other mental health diagnoses.
