About
I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Illinois with an emphasis in Child and Family Services. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois. I started my professional career working in the child welfare field as a foster care therapist, then moved onto a group practice, and now I partner with Find A Therapist as an online therapist.
My professional focus has always been on helping people heal and move past barriers in their lives. I choose trainings and specializations according to what I see as the most effective for change and evidence-based in the field. I am trauma-informed and I use this knowledge to help clients explore the different chapters of their lives and notice experiences that were impactful to who they are today. I use a blend of theoretical models and find that *EMDR, CBT, DBT, IFS and EFT can be helpful in providing clients with insight into how they became stuck in certain beliefs or behaviors at their current stage of life. I incorporate a lot of validation and empowerment as I believe that we all want healing and will naturally move toward wholeness. Most clients either come to me with some knowledge of experiences that have shaped them, possibly in the form of trauma, abuse, or neglect, or they find that their current symptoms, such as relationship, work , sleeping, eating, anxiety, or depressive issues are at the surface and they don't understand why this is so prominent in their lives. I consider it a privilege to help clients navigate those uncertainties and find answers that lead to overall wellbeing.
I meet with clients through 40 minute video sessions that are typically scheduled weekly. Messaging is used for short check-ins but the majority of the work is done during video sessions. If you believe my expertise and style is a good fit I look forward to working with you!
