Hey! I'm so glad you are here to learn a little bit about me and see if I may be a good fit for you to begin working with!
I am a Licensed Certified (Clinical) Social Worker in the state of Arkansas. I have been an LCSW since 2018, LMSW since 2015, working in clinical social work. I attended Arkansas State University for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work. I do have experience in working with child welfare services at an undergraduate level, (foster care, protective services, investigations for reported abuse/maltreatment) so I am familiar with those operations if that is needed. I am also a veteran of the Arkansas Army National Guard where I served 6 years. So if you are searching for someone who has a general understanding of military culture or some of its challenges I could potentially provide assistance or support.

As a therapist, I have worked in various settings to include: community mental health, acute care adult/geriatric inpatient psychiatric hospital, and as an LCSW with community based Veterans Affairs clinic providing outpatient mental health services to veterans. My experience ranges from treating clients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ptsd, to serious mental illness like schizophrenia. My approach to therapy is client centered: clients are the experts on their lives and determine the direction and depth of therapy. I utilize various treatment modalities/tools to guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals. In using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist clients in exploring the relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to aid in discovering dysfunctional thought patterns leading to self-sabotaging behaviors and beliefs. Also using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I support clients through developing skills with the goal of moving clients towards a life involving the capacity for experiencing joy and freedom.My treatment is individualized to each persons unique needs and goals, I feel collaboration is a huge part of success for therapy.

I am actively working in my position as a full time therapist 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday therefore it may be some time before I can return a message. I will check my messages at least two times per day, once in the morning before going to my office and again in the evening, sometimes more!
