Hi! My name is Larry Powell and thank you for visiting my profile. I am a Marriage and Family Therapy and licensed in California. I’ve been working in the mental health field for the past 19 years. I have worked with individuals on a range of challenges including psychosis, mood, anxiety, addiction, and relational difficulties.
I use a person-centered and collaborative counseling style. I think it’s important to connect on a human to human level. It’s important for us to have a shared understanding of you and what is most important to you. I also want to make sure that any preferences you have are integrated into our work. That will be a guide for us to work together on accomplishing your goals. I use two brief measures in our work every time we meet that will let us know if what we are doing together is helping you or not. If it is, great! If it isn’t, we will know we have to change something.

I use a combination of therapies including Humanistic, Solution Focused, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
