Hello. It takes a lot of strength to reach out for support when you aren't feeling your best. It's this effort on your part that lays the groundwork for reaching your optimal health and well being.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 + years in counseling and care management. I have worked with clients who are coping with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, coping with life changes, LGBT+, grief and loss, chronic health concerns, caregiver stress and terminal illness. The counseling support I have offered has included individual, family and group counseling in a variety of settings such as home, hospital, hospice, and the traditional office setting.
The style I utilize in working with people in the counseling situation is one of warmth, compassion, support and empowerment. My approach is a mixture of humanistic, cognitive-behavioral and existential therapy with a focus on the present issues as they affect the quality of your life at the moment. Our work together is directed by the goals you identify and the steps you are willing to take to achieve them. At this time I am only able to provide counseling support through messaging, live text chat and phone calls. Live video calls is not an option for me, at this time. I understand that this is the preferred method of interaction for many people and if this is true for you, please arrange to work with an alternate therapist. While I can participate in your journey to better health and mental health, you are the guide to make that happen.
