Hello and welcome to Find A Therapist. My name is L. Renee Barton. I will be honored to work with you on your journey to becoming a better you. We will work together side by side on this journey.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri and in the state of Arkansas. I earned my Master of Social Work at Missouri State University. I have been doing individual, family, and couples therapy for three years.

As a therapist I will utilize a range of techniques and interventions associated with person centered, cognitive behavioral, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and others, as necessary. I will utilize active listening, unconditional positive regard, and empathetic understanding and reflections to develop rapport and trust to encourage a therapeutic relationship and the exploration of psychosocial stressors. As a therapist I will use a wide range of techniques and interventions such as coping skills, identification of triggers and feelings, role play, mirroring, positive self-talk, and others, as necessary. I will provide psychoeducation to educate about symptoms and ways to manage symptoms appropriately.
