Hello, my name is Lakeisha Swain, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. Have you been struggling with life recently and need someone to talk to? Have things occurred in your life beyond your control, yet you are left to deal with the aftermath of depression or anxiety? My therapeutic approach is warm and person-centered. It is important to me to know you as an individual and tailor your treatment to meet your current needs. I do not believe in the one size fits all approach. I believe that each person is different and brings a different dynamic to the therapist-patient relationship. While working with me, you will find someone who will listen and give you the tools you will need to get yourself feeling better. I primarily use a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) modality throughout your treatment. This approach looks at how we can change our perspective by changing how we view various situations and ultimately have better control over our emotions. You no longer have to allow what happens to or around you to determine how you feel. I look forward to walking alongside you.
