It is my pleasure to walk along side of you on this journey. Compassion, empathy and genuine love for people propels me to utilize the therapeutic process to listen, encourage, empower and uplift. My professional experience includes working with young adults in transition, adults and families in various settings from community mental health to providing home-based services.
Psychotherapy Specializations include: substance use disorders, work stress, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, sexual abuse/sexual assault, anxiety, relationships, trauma, PTSD, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), social communication issues, career transition, childhood abuse and neglect, psychosis, and working with children and adolescents.
Cultural diversity and sensitivity is important to effectively assist clients. My experience includes working with individuals across all socioeconomic, ethnic, cultural, religious, and racial backgrounds. My human service experience expand over 20 years and includes working with adoptive and biological parents, training potential foster parents, family reunification, utilization review, individual therapy, substance abuse disorder, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, training law enforcement and school safety officers on recognizing the signs and symptoms of mental illness, program development and implementation, community outreach, writing and implementing policy, community outreach and home-based therapy.
Counseling Techniques: Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and grief therapy.
It is my professional opinion that weekly live sessions (chat, phone, video) are most effective for clients to progress towards their goals.
