About

I completed PhD program in Psychology, Public Policy, and Law with an emphasis in Criminal Behavior under the umbrella of Forensic Psychology in March 2023, which has increased insight and awareness of the intersection between the mental health and criminal justice systems. Additionally, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I have a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Mindfulness, I am a certified Personality Disorder Provider (C-PD) and Chemical Dependency Specialist (CDS), and I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. My approach to therapy is non-hierarchical, strength-based, and accepting of people for where they are at in life. My approach My primary approach to therapy is to incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy but combined with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Therapy. I have experience working through both the DBT and Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT) workbooks but, most often, I piecemeal the skills from these workbooks to increase accessibility across all sessions. My focus I specialize in both childhood and adult trauma, personality disorders (for both the diagnosed individual or their loved ones learning to navigate this diagnosis), mood disorders, and self-directed harm including suicidal ideation. My communication style My approach to therapy is non-hierarchical, strength-based, and accepting of people for where they are at in life. I will "assign" homework that are suggestions for increasing growth and progress between sessions, but I am not going to grade you or kick you out of therapy for not doing the homework! These are merely suggestions for you to incorporate if your life allows for it in that particular week. My journey to therapy I LOVE to share information and resources with people with the aim of increasing growth and self-sufficiency.
