Hello there my name is Kyvele and I have been working as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California for over 20 years. I am skilled at assisting folks navigate, psychological and interpersonal issues in a growth related and non-judgmental manner. I have a casual approach to therapy and want you to be comfortable during our sessions. I have worked in a variety of settings as a clinician for children, teens, individuals and families and I modify my therapeutic approach to your individual needs. I believe that in order to provide effective therapy, I must first establish a genuine and supportive relationship with you, so that you feel empowered to express your thoughts and feelings. We will work together so that you may obtain the personal growth, insight and life changes that you are striving for. When I am not working with clients, I am working with my therapy dog Bentley as we try to bring happiness to folks that are homebound. I look forward to meeting you soon. My approach I modify my therapeutic approach to the needs of my clients. Some of the therapeutic approaches that I use with clients include Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic, and Reality therapy. My focus I have worked in a variety of capacities and settings as a clinician for children, teens, individuals, families, and couples. My communication style In working as a therapist, my goal is to provide a non judgmental environment for my client to feel safe. My tone is altered as needed to best support my client. I am sensitive to interpersonal nuances and I provide a caring and supportive feedback. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to wanting to become a therapist began during my time as an undergraduate at UC Davis. I was very involved in volunteer activities and charitable organizations. I was also a volunteer peer counselor providing support to fellow students. I feel fortunate to have landed a career that I love and that brings me fulfillment.
