About
Hi, my name is Kyle and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 10 years of experience providing individual, couples, and group counseling. I have experience working in community mental health agencies, school and college settings, and in a private practice. I work with a wide range of clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief/loss, obsessive thoughts and behaviors, and trauma.
I graduated with a masters degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and I am currently in the process of completing a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. I truly enjoy the field of counseling and chose to pursue a doctoral degree in the field to further my own counseling skills and to teach students how to provide their own quality counseling!
My approach to therapy is person-centered and also draws on many principles from reality and cognitive behavioral therapies. First and foremost, I believe it is essential to build a strong therapeutic relationship with clients by providing a nonjudgmental space for clients. From a person-centered approach, I believe clients are capable individuals who can set their own goals and lead the way during counseling sessions. I also believe it is essential for clients to recognize their wants and needs, and to develop healthy ways to meet them. Finally, I believe thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected with thoughts being the primary influence on how an individual responds to the outside world.
When I’m not providing counseling, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children and enjoy watching sports. For self-care, I enjoy cycling, hiking, and playing baseball.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
