About

Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach with over 18 years experience working as an individual, family and couples therapist. I started my career in community mental health dealing with severe mental illness. I have been witness to some of the most traumatic and symptomatic individuals and know first hand that everyone requires help every now and again. You are not alone!

After completing my Master's Degree and working within the impoverished communities of North Philadelphia I accepted a position with the American Red Cross. Within this role I was fortunate enough to gain hands-on experience as a first responder to local emergencies and leading many consulting initiatives within Philadelphia. I was appointed as liaison to Chester county and became a trainer and presenter to the entire 5 county region. This has helped me to learn about trauma and dealing with devastating circumstances.

From there I began working with a group practice and branched into a private practice. I continue to complete research, publish articles and author presentations on many different psycho-educational topics including overcoming interpersonal and relationship issues, anxiety, self-confidence, infidelity, abuse related trauma and PTSD type reactions. In addition to my private therapeutic practice my current clinical work involves completing data analysis for clinical research. I have successfully completed many years of rigorous training and calibration exercises, by assessment experts and scale authors. I am able to confidently determine appropriate diagnosis and identify best practices for the most appropriate and customized therapies.

As a seasoned therapist my toolbox consists of varied behavioral techniques always accompanied by a humanistic and mindfulness approach. I am fiercely committed to my patients and will not rest until we find your correct path. My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive and compassionate, with an ability to add humor when appropriate. I work from a strengths-based perspective to assist you in maximizing what works for you and overcome your life's challenges. I'm here to help you and offer you a safe space to be open and honest. As a professional I am trained to leave my personal feelings and biases aside and to attend only to you and your unique situation.

"When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves." -Viktor E. Frankl
