I strive to work with clients in achieving a greater understanding of how current and past thoughts, actions, and circumstances affect current emotions. My goal is to assist clients in development and utilization of their individual personal resources in their treatment.

Background and Clinical Training

My first counseling experience came in 1991, when she began volunteer work as a telephone crisis counselor within the addictions field in Los Angeles, California. I have been has been working for the United States Veterans Affairs (VA) since 2012. Within the VA system I have been trained professionally, in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for psychological trauma, and Motivational Interviewing therapy (MI) for addiction behavioral diagnosis's.

I earned my master’s degree in social work from the University of New Mexico in 2011.

I attained my clinical license in 2014. Every two years, I complete a minimum of forty hours of continuing education.
