Hello, my name is Kristina. I have been a therapist for over 12 years. I am currently a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California. I hold a Master in Psychology from Chapman University. Additionally, I am currently in the process of completing my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International's University in San Diego. I expect to graduate in spring of 2020. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I also helped many individuals who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach often uses concepts from Acceptance Commitment Therapy. This focus allows us to make space for these thoughts, feelings, emotions, and memories rather than spending all of our energy fighting to avoid or distract ourselves from them. This allows us to focus our energy on the things that are more import and make our life feel more meaningful.
Additionally, I have extensive training in Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic and Compassion Focused Therapy, and I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
