My name is Krissy Smith and I'm a LICSW in the State of Alabama. I enjoy working with all ages-children through geriatrics. I like to view therapy as a collaborative approach. My approach I like to use the motto "start where the client is at" to begin the therapeutic process. I do not believe therapy is a "one size fits all" which makes me explore and try new approaches. I would say I primarily engage clients in mindfulness approaches and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My focus I like to work with all ages, from all different walks of life. My communication style I am very calm and a good listener. I try to put myself in every clients shoes and be empathetic. My journey to mental healthcare I have a long background of working in mental health. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient setttings. My goals for you I like to set goals with clients the first and second session. However, goals are fluid and may change throughout therapy. My first session with you The first session is a lot of getting information and doing a full assessment. We will begin to set goals.
