About
Krissy has a desire to create a safe, non-judgmental, empathic, environment during the counseling process. Krissy truly believes when people feel comfortable to become vulnerable and share their stories then true healing, strength, and freedom can happen to move on from past and present hurts. Krissy is an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained therapist who can work with clients on a whole range of traumas or adverse emotional experiences. Krissy also pulls from a variety of modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy to assist in processing down past and present events that may be holding us back from realizing our full potential. Krissy is originally from the heart of America, Ohio. Having overcome traumatic events from her childhood and then realizing she often took the role of helper with her friends and family, she understood she had a gift that she could use to help other people overcome their own personal struggles. Krissy graduated in 2002 from UNC Charlotte with a BA in Psychology and then went on to gain her MA in Counseling from Liberty University in 2006. After completing several hours toward her supervised counseling, Krissy realized she had a heart to serve and help people internationally, so she boarded a plane in 2010 and lived in London, England for nearly 9 years. While in London Krissy was accredited with the British Association of Counselors and Psychotherapists (2015-2017) and worked with a variety of people from many different cultures and backgrounds. Having returned to America in 2018, Krissy set to work establishing her counseling practice back in the US. Krissy’s work has included issues around anxiety, domestic violence, stress, depression, life adjustments, LGBTQ+, substance use disorders, relationship issues, young adult issues & working through cross-cultural adjustments.
