My name is Kristin Balloon and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I graduated from the University of Houston with a Masters degree in Counseling and have been practicing for 4 years. I have experience working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, self harm, trauma, and other problems related to emotion dysregulation. I also have experience with parents of those children are also struggling with emotion regulation.

I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT) and I like to integrate this therapy with a client-centered approach.Integrating DBT with this approach provides treatment with an abundance of coping skills and a framework to treat black-and- white thinking. My style is warm, validating and compassionate. I strive to provide individualized treatment to each client based on their needs and seek to provided a space where my clients can feel comfortable with being vulnerable. It is in this place we can feel our emotions, learn from our struggles and grow, and proceed to thrive in life.

Getting into counseling is a big step and it takes a lot of bravery and courage to take. It can feel like a daunting task, but you don't have to do it alone. I look forward to being a support on your journey to healing.
