About

Welcome!
You should be proud of yourself for being brave and courageous to identify an issue in your life and take charge. Seeking assistance to make changes in your life that will aid you in becoming the person you want to be is a beautiful step to take. My name is Kristie and I am here to assist you on this journey.

I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor Level II working out of the state of Tennessee. I have about 4 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults in the substance abuse and mental health fields. I have also worked with families for additional support. The positions I have held were held in residential and outpatient treatment, and community mental health settings. I have the most experience working with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, stress management, self-esteem, and life transitions. I also have experience with co-occurring issues, which include panic attacks, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive behaviors, and family conflict.

I am known for my ability to include a non-judgmental attitude and empathy in all sessions. My multicultural competency and ability to see different perspectives enables me to meet my clients where they are. My caring attitude and constant self-reflection allows me to be the support my clients need. I use an eclectic approach in treatment meaning I tailor my sessions to your personal needs. The techniques I use in sessions are motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, solution-focused therapy and experiential therapy. I make sure that the techniques used are beneficial for your treatment.

I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are, and guiding them to self-reflection and awareness. The therapeutic alliance includes compassion, empathy, collaboration, honesty, communication, and respect. Should you choose me to be your counselor, I look forward to starting this journey of healing together.
