Hello ! My name is Kristen Moore, MSW, LMSW and welcome to my page! I am currently a Licensed Master’s level Social Worker in the state of Michigan. I have been working in the social work profession for over seven years, as a therapist for three. I have experience counseling clients and families in various settings; an LGBTQIA community center, during crisis in emergency rooms, hospitals at end of life and in mental health clinics. I have had the privilege of interacting with people of various ages, in various stages of their lives, with varying backgrounds and life experiences; from teens to 80s and beyond!

I follow an eclectic style of therapy, and pull upon the needs of the client to determine which methods may be most beneficial. At the same time, I know not everyone fits the same mold ! Therapy should be a unique experience for each individual. The methods I follow include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and a psychodynamic approach, including looking at core beliefs and attachment styles.

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, adjustments to life events, job stress, family conflict, relationship issues, substance use. I also have experience in advance care planning, working with caregivers and families of people who suffer with chronic illness, grief and loss.

My style is flexible to your needs. My goal is to create a safe and open space for my clients. This is a shared journey between the two of us.
