This is a "trick" that the mind plays on us, and it simply does not work. Let's get started on improving your quality of life right now, despite the challenges.

My name is Kristen. I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Oregon. I am fascinated by the brain and the human condition; it is a passion for me to help you learn more about your own mind and life. With this knowledge (along with support and patience), you can learn to make your mind "work" for you- rather than you "working" for it. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about this.

I received a master's degree in social work (MSW) in 2013 from the University of Alabama. I have worked as a counselor for five years. Many of my clients have worked with me on anxiety/stress, depression, healing from past trauma and improving self-esteem. I have had a great deal of experience in assisting with family conflict and parenting issues as well. I enjoy using mindfulness-based interventions with persons who are interested as these are heavily supported by the latest neuroscience research. Collaborative Problem Solving and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are among other approaches that I like to take bits and pieces from. My style differs with each person/couple/family. I welcome any and all feedback as my counseling is about supporting you in the way that you need to be supported.
