I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor and a licensed clinical addiction specialist in North Carolina. I have 7 years of professional work experience working with people from 4 years old and up. I have quite a bit of experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, motivation, self esteem, confidence, & depression. I also have experience working with coping with life changes, trauma, and self harming behaviors. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey. Generally speaking I try to look at things from a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) approach, which in a nut shell looks at how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. However, one style definitely does not fit everything so I will often incorporate skills from therapies like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused, Narrative and other styles again depending on what’s going on.
I try to be as open and flexible as I can be to meet my clients where they’re at, I’m not perfect but I’m ready when you are! I often say my job is to help people get to better, however that looks for them, and empower them to continue.
