Hello, my name is Kristen Kofoed and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have been since 2000. My therapeutic style is most in line with Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and believe that we have the tools for change within us and that we can move forward with what we have vs battling all of the scars we have lived with and often feel that formed who we are today. I have worked primarily in trauma, crisis, grief, loss and really enjoy working with those experiencing the stressors of transitions such as divorce, separation, and those in transformational phases of life (child to tween, teenager to adult, women's invisibility as we age, etc). These transitional periods are often linked with grief and loss. I work well with those in crisis in helping you find your center to alleviate the feelings of being overwhelmed and as if you are in an impossible place toward being able to move through it, take action, and come out on the other side. I tend to work better with those experiencing situational depression vs chronic/clinical depression. I am absolutely non-judgmental, honest, compassionate, direct, and am told it feels like you're talking to your best friend. I look forward to working with you.
