About
My name is Kristen Johnson. I am an LCSW and have been licensed since 2000. I work with youth and adults who struggle with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, relational problems and phase of life problems. My approach When working with someone, I individualize my approach to help them achieve their goal(s) for treatment. I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT and Interpersonal psychotherapy as my theoretical approaches to treatment. My focus I work with youth, adults, and the Veteran population. I help people who struggle with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and phase of life problems. My communication style I am a positive and supportive therapist. I can be direct when it’s clinically necessary. It’s important to me that people I work with know that when in treatment with me we form a partnership so the individual knows they are not on their healing journey alone. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to the career as a therapist by a curiosity about how people manage adversity. My own experiences with adversity deepened my desire to help others find hope and feel empowered along the healing journey. My goals for you I directly ask clients what goal(s) they have for treatment and will offer guidance in setting realistic goals if needed. My first session with you The first session involves introductions to each other and the treatment experience. If you decide you want to continue working together, goal(s) for treatment will be discussed and established.
