Hello there, My name is Krissy Bynum, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Anger Management Counselor, CAMC. I have had the pleasure of working in outpatient mental health for the past 10 years providing individual, group, and family therapy to children and families. Aside from conducting therapy, I also perform advanced professional mental health services and related duties such as conducting assessments, treatment plans, diagnosis, and crisis intervention. I have also had the opportunity to work in an inpatient psychiatric hospital with high acuity patients and as a Medical Social Worker for a hospital servicing both the emergency room and admitted patients. As a therapist, I work collaboratively with people to identify the source of their pain and empower them to resolve it using evidenced-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, behavioral modification, and solution focused therapy. I have a special interest in working with individuals who struggle with life impairments that are often relate to bereavement, trauma, depressive disorders, suicidal ideations, anger, and anxiety. I believe if given the right tools and support, it may help the individual overcome obstacles. I believe people are inherently strong and resilient and can reconnect with those parts of themselves in environments where they are not judged, receive understanding, and work toward their own goals.
