About

Kim Marshall Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Kim works with a variety of individuals and couples. She provides an inviting and warm space to explore client’s goals and address areas where they feel stuck or hopeless. She believes that through a safe and caring therapeutic relationship, hope, change and flourishing will emerge. My approach Kim's approach draws on Psychodynamic therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Attachment based Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems My focus Kim works with adults dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, parenting, parenting adult children, and relational conflicts. My communication style I provide a warm, empathetic, inviting presence. I seek to help clients feel safe to trust themselves and our work together to accomplish their goals. My journey to mental healthcare I began the journey of becoming a therapist by first being a client myself. I remember being very nervous as I had no idea what to expect. The journey of therapy lead me to change my career path later in life to becoming a therapist myself. I was so incredibly thankful for the life change that I experienced through therapy that I wanted to pass along the gift to others. My goals for you Many clients come to counseling with goals or an idea of how they would like their life to look if counseling were helpful to them. If they don't, I will help clients imagine what they would hope for in the counseling process. It's also common for goals to change over the course of counseling. I am here to support a client in whatever goals they have. My first session with you Going to counseling for the first time can bring a lot of anxiety when you don't know what to expect. My first priority is to make my client feel comfortable and safe. I will want to understand what brought someone to counseling and what they would hope for if counseling were helpful to them. I will focus on getting to know the client with guided questions.
